Dearest Night Owls,

January 2021 is almost over. Was it a good month for you? I have to say that January had several highs and several lows. This January, I am thankful that I received my first vaccine dose for COVID-19. My second dose is happening this upcoming week. It was supposed to be a positive experience because it is a vaccine that is new and brings about hope for control over this horrid virus. Unfortunately, on the day that I received the vaccine, I was verbally assaulted by a woman who followed me out of the hospital because I stood too close to her after receiving my vaccine.

The greatest accomplishment for the country, this month, would have to be the removal of that orange asshole from the White House. Now, this country has a chance of recovering now that we have Joe Biden as our President and our first female Vice President Kamala Harris. Oh, I am so thankful that our country is recognizing that women should be in positions of power. Let's face it, men ruin EVERYTHING and history backs me up on this fact.

I am ending my January with the start of a six-day work week. Tonight, I will be covering a NOC shift at a sister facility. Tomorrow, I am starting, actually re-starting, a workplace based course called Strength-Based Leadership. I attempted to take this course last year, but I was struggling a great deal with my hectic work schedule and my own mental health that I had to back out. Thankfully, I was accepted to take the course this year. I am taking extra steps to make sure that it will be a success. For example, I am not going to be working any extra shifts this upcoming month. I desperately need some time off.

When I go to work, I am going to put in a request for a week off in March. I know that it is still a ways away, but it will be something to look forward to.
