Dearest Night Owls,

Celebrate good times, come on (let's celebrate)ā£ļø There is a great deal to celebrate on this Thursday. Even though my Thursday didn't start off so great, at least I survived the day. I did have a sour day at work, and I longed for the weekend. After I left work, I decided to do what was necessary to turn the day around.

Today, there were three different birthdays that need to be acknowledged: my dad, my friend Josh, and my car. Yes, my car has a birthday even though it's a machine and was never birthed from a mammal. On this day, three years ago, I purchased a new 2018 Toyota Yaris. Today, my baby girl turned three years old. I am one proud car mamma.

It was my intention of contacting both Josh and my dad, while I was on my way home from work. No, I don't talk on my cellphone when I am driving. Well, I guess technically I do but I use the Bluetooth technology that was already installed in my vehicle so I can be completely hands-free while I drive. My attention is mostly on driving, though, it should always be completely on driving. I don't make a lot of phone calls, when I drive, but I decided to make an exception for today.

My first phone call was technically to Evan because I saw that I had a package delivered two days ago, and was freaking out that it may have been stolen off of my front porch. It isn't just paranoia, there is a precedent set from when someone ran up to my porch on Thanksgiving morning and stole a package. Guess what was inside the package? It actually was pretty funny what this not-so-sly-completely-total-dumbass person took off of my front porch. He probably thought he was stealing something expensive and valuable. Nope, it was neither. Anyway, I digress. It turned out that the delivered package, from two days ago, was left in my mailbox. It was in my mailbox when I checked my mailbox this morning. I was so relieved to see it in there because it was some items that I couldn't wait to receive:

I am SO EXCITED to receive my ribbon scarf šŸ§£ and tote bag from @storiartsā£ļø As soon as I saw that they had an amazing collection of stylish items, created out of quotes from a variety of different literary classics.

I wanted to purchase ALL of the items that I saw, but I had to restrain myself. I decided to purchase a few items from my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK, which is Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Also, I had NO IDEA that they are a locally owned business in Portland, OR.

ā€œI declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.ā€

Evan didn't pick up the phone, after attempting to contact him, so I moved on to calling Josh. After a few rings, Josh answered his phone. It was nice to have a long conversation with someone. A simple phone call, to wish a friend happy birthday, turned into a 47 minute phone conversation. I have known Josh since college, and I haven't seem him in years. It is kind of unfortunate that we're both local and still couldn't find time to see each other. We don't even really talk all that often because both of have similar issues with maintaining steady relationships with other people. I wish that I could say that I was the best friend that anyone could ever ask for, but I'm not. I could never hold on to friendships, and it's always been that way since before I could remember. I don't why that is because it can't be because of all of the excessive moving throughout my life. My older sister never seemed to have trouble having and keeping friendships. I don't have the kind of personality type that my sister does, which is why our lives turned out so differently. Sometimes, I am envious that she has so many friends where I don't have that many friends. The friends that I do have, though, are the greatest people to know. Josh is one of the greats.

Since I spoke so long with Josh, I was unable to get in contact with my dad to wish him a happy birthday. By the time I went inside of my house, it was well after 08:00 AM and I had to get ready for a three hour training that started at 09:00 AM. I made a mental note to make a phone call to my dad tomorrow morning.

In other news, I woke up twice. My sleep cycle is basically mirroring my sleep cycle from yesterday.
