Happy National Hug Your Cat Day! Did my fellow night owls hug a cat today, or was that just me? I love hugging my beautiful cats. Today is also National Donut Day. Now I want to eat donuts and hug some cats and then my day will be absolutely perfect.
Guess what? I was able to get just a little but more sleep. I woke up only twice, during the day. The first time that I woke up was because of my cat, Precious. For some reason, after 03:00 PM, Precious decided to be extra playful and woke me up by smacking me in the face with her paw (claws out). I could tell that she was feeling impish because she was purring the entire time while she was smacking me in the face with her claws out. I tried giving her some pets to show her some attention and affection. Apparently, pets were not enough to calm her down. Precious decided that she wanted to get really close to me, while lying in bed. She crawled under the blankets, with me, and I continued to give her loving pets. Precious decided that she wanted to be extra playful, and decided to use the opportunity to bite my finger. She bit me so hard that she broke the skin on my right index finger. Now, I have a line of dried blood on my index finger where the skin is now missing. I stopped giving her pets and had to nudge Precious away from me, to discourage her behavior. Precious immediately responded by leaving the bed to go to her timeout space. Precious is smart, and she knows when she needs to go into a timeout. I can't be mad at her because she's too damn adorable. I could wake up to her gnawing my face off and I would still think that it was the cutest things that I had ever witnessed.
I had such a productive night at work last night. I managed to complete a handful of chart notes and my monthly progress report for my assigned client. I was even able to leave a drawing (posted above), on the community board, as a fun addition for the clients. I love Simon's Cat cartoon images, so I thought that I would copy one of my favorite Simon's Cat images.
Guess what else happened, while I was at work? I was able to spend some time with my furry workplace friends. This morning, I actually finally got to interact with "Girl Squirrel". She is a famous female squirrel who loves to get up close and personal with my clients. This morning, she crawled right up to the base of my feet and just stared at me with her beautiful squirrel eyes. I couldn't resist. I stayed a little later to give her some nuts. Evidently, "Girl Squirrel" really love pecans. I am so thankful that I was able to spend some time with "Girl Squirrel" this morning. She is such a sweetheart, but really hates to share her pecans. There was another squirrel close by, which I assumed was her mate. According to some of the clients, "Girl Squirrel" has been pregnant on two different occasions. She appears to no longer be pregnant at the moment, so her babies are where ever "Girl Squirrel" has made her home.
At the beginning of my shift, I was able to spend time with my good buddy name Pickles. He is such a sweetheart kitty cat, who has a human that lives a couple of blocks away. Pickles has/had a brother name Darryl. An actual brother, from the same litter, who was our primary visitor for several months before even getting to meet Pickles. Unfortunately, Darryl has been missing from the area, since September of 2020. Pickles has realized this and continues to stop by to fill in for Darryl. I can't think of what could have happened to Darryl. I wish that he is somewhere safe and is very happy. I miss Darryl so much. I really do appreciate having Pickles visit almost nightly. I can now call his name, when I get out of my car and see him running toward me from down the street. The little jingle jingle of his collar always gives him away. He is my sweet Pickles.
