Passion + Muse

Have you found your muse, night owls? Is there someone out there with whom inspire sonnets or great love stories to put all other sonnets and love stories to shame? Who is the Romeo to your Juliet? The Tristan to your Iseult (Isolde)? The Dante to your Beatrice? The Cleopatra to your Mark Antony? The Paris to your Helen?

There are so many more examples of couples consumed by passion, and their love brought about the stories of their powerful love. The one found the other, their muse, and thus an eternal love story had started. Some of these stories, though, don't have a happy ending. Stories of forbidden love often end in tragedy.

Lately, I have been pondering the reasons as to why the powerful feelings that coincide with love often go unrequited. Why is that? I mean, humans are animals. Like any other animal, the brain floods the body with a specific chemical formula, when you encounter another being, that makes you feel that sudden consuming feeling of attraction, passion, and desire. Do you understand the science behind falling in love, attraction, or lust? I found a helpful credible source that discusses this very topic:

I understand that when you understand the science of falling in love and/or lust, it still doesn't help with the deeper understanding as to why one person becomes consumed by this flood of chemicals while the other person feels nothing? Is it just the timing of the situation? Even if it's timing, why wouldn't the other person also become flooded with all of these chemicals as well? I mean, these chemicals are all released for a very specific reason, so what is the purpose of these feelings if they aren't reciprocated by the other person? It doesn't make any sense!
