Take A Bite Out Of This Bloody Wednesday

Dearest Night Owls,

Happy World Dracula Day 🧛🏻‍♂️, my fellow children of the night. Did anyone else catch a glimpse of the Super Flower Blood Moon this morning? I was so thankful to be able to observe some of it, but the cloud cover over the Portland Metro Area and Los Angeles prevented the ability to witness all of the Total Lunar Eclipse. The amazing folks over at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles provided a live stream of the Lunar Eclipse, and there was a lot of cloud cover over there during the total eclipse. At the time of the total eclipse (at 04:11 AM), I went outside to see if there was a clear enough view of the total eclipse. I took a couple of personal videos of my experience of the Total Lunar Eclipse. For the most part, it was an epic fail, and I would have loved to have watched this grand event from a better location.

What makes the whole event that much better, the Super Flower Blood Moon occurred on the same day as World Dracula Day. On a day like today, I want to read Bram Stoker's Dracula in a room illuminated by lit candles and a fire in the fireplace. That and watch the Halloween special of Ghost Adventures when they traveled to Romania in search of the real life Dracula (Vlad the Impaler).

In other news, today, I had a more consistent sleep! I only woke up twice during the day. To me, that is a vast improvement. The first time that I woke up was even after 01:30 PM, which is much better than the day before. Granted, I ended up going to bed later than I would have liked.

I had a psychiatrist appointment this morning, at 09:15 AM, and I didn't get out of the appointment until almost 10:00 AM. This was my last appointment with this psychiatrist because he is approaching retirement. Funny fact, I never actually met this man in person before. All of our appointments, since he was assigned to my care, have been virtual. He seemed like a really nice guy who genuinely cared, and I liked that he was someone who wanted to listen to what I had to say. I wish him well, and I hope he really enjoys his time in retirement.

Anyway, I ended up waking up, for the day, right before 06:00 PM. Apparently, my body is adjusting to my schedule wake-up time and will force myself to wake right before that time. I am a girl who values showing up, everywhere, earlier than I have to. Waking up is evidently no different. Do you ever just wake up with a song stuck in your head? The song just begins to play, within your mind, and you have no idea why? That's how it was for me after I woke up. I had a particularly strange dream and it didn't involve songs or singing, so I don't know why I just suddenly had this song humming in my brain on repeat. I couldn't pinpoint the song, at first, but my brain continued to get stuck on this specific tune. Luckily, I was finally able to figure out what the song was but I still wasn't quite sure how I ended up waking up with it stuck in my head...I'll post the song below.

After finally figuring out what song I was attempting to remember, the spell was broken and the song left my head. It was nice to have a little bit of peace and quiet in my overly crowded mind. Tonight, being that it's Wednesday, I was able to watch the new Handmaid's Tale on Hulu. It keeps getting more interesting, folks! It's triggering, traumatizing, and violent. The whole show definitely has very strong themes and messages for its viewers. Heed the messages. Don't let what happens, in the show, happen in real life! It is truly terrifying that this is the kind of reality that could very well become actual reality. It cannot become reality...ever!
